Callan Bentley is a geology instructor at Northern Virginia Community College’s Annandale Campus. He has also worked extensively in geology education in fouryear college, junior high, and outdoor-education settings. Bentley is the geoscientist-in-the park for the Chesapeake and Ohio National Historical Park and a contributing writer to Geotimes.
Abstract
The author offers his experiences in using Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) in his geology courses to gauge his students’ grasp of course concepts.
