Inquiry: The Journal of the Virginia Community Colleges, a publication of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), supports and encourages the pursuit of scholarship, research, and the exchange of ideas among the faculty and staff of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. This publication focuses upon the issues, research, policies, and concerns of community colleges, practices of teaching and learning, students, administration, and higher education in general.
Inquiry welcomes contributions from VCCS faculty and staff, and from other higher education professionals whose research and scholarship focus on issues of relevance and concern for the students, faculty, and administrators of community colleges.
Submissions
Submissions to Inquiry are accepted continuously. Manuscripts are solicited in the following categories. Please direct questions to Thomas Geary, Ph.D., Inquiry Managing Editor.
Inquiry invites current VCCS college students to submit their best artwork for possible publication as the front cover of Inquiry: The Journal of the Virginia Community Colleges to the Managing Editor.
How to Contribute Your Submission
Before you begin
- Please be sure you have the following items:
- Article Title
- An abstract (separate from the article body)
- Keywords for your article (optional)
- Article in Microsoft Word or RTF format
- Please do not include title page, abstract, or page numbers in your document submission. These will be provided by the system.
To submit your article:
No part of the submission is final until all steps have been completed and you click the final Submit button.
The review process begins as soon as Inquiry: The Journal of the Virginia Community Colleges receives a readable article, along with the abstract and article title.
You may revise any element of your submission later, simply log in to your Digital Commons account and click the submitted article's title on your My Account page.
