Yuemin He, PhD is a Professor of English at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia, where she teaches literature and composition. Her essay “Gary Snyder’s Selective Way to Cold Mountain: Domesticating Han Shan” is published in The Emergence of Buddhist American Literature (2010), and her short story, “Accidental Sex Education” has been accepted for the 2012 issue of Yuan Yang, a journal of Hong Kong and International Writing.
Abstract
This author used translation in the classroom to increase student awareness of audience. However, this translation was not between different languages; it was translation from an informal to a formal writing style, and vice versa.
